The above picture illustrates the layout of a typical ozone based residential water treatment system for well. The system operation is as follows: Water supplied by the Well Pump [1] is directed through the Venturi Injector [2] At the narrow section of the venturi, a suction is created by the water flow. The suction draws outside air [blue line] through the Automatic Air Dryer [3] and the Ozone Generator [4] where the ozone [red line] is produced. The ozone is then drawn into and dissolved in the water by mixing action of the venturi. The ozone attacks water contaminants as the water/ozone mix flows through the Contact/Off Gas Chamber [5]. Excess air is vented to the atmosphere via the Vent Valve[6] The water then flows into the Bladder Tank[7]. Upon demand from the house, the water passes through the Multimedia Filter[8] where the oxidized contaminants are removed from the liquid stream prior to entering the home. Following this system a water softener and/or reverse osmosis can be installed for further water treatment to remove hardness minerals as desired by end user.
